Hyundai Logbook Service Adelaide
Hyundai Logbook Service Adelaide
The i30 and Tucson are everywhere on Adelaide roads for a reason: they’re affordable to buy and cheap to keep, provided the servicing actually happens on schedule. Light Wheel Alignment Specialists provides Hyundai logbook service in Adelaide for the i30, Tucson, Kona, Santa Fe and Venue, following Hyundai’s factory schedule, using parts that meet Hyundai’s specification, and stamping the book at every visit.
Hyundai’s Warranty Rules: Read This Before You Book Anywhere
Hyundai changed its warranty in June 2025, and it directly affects where you should service. Here’s the honest version.
Every Hyundai comes with a 5-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. Under Australian Consumer Law, servicing with an independent workshop like ours does not touch that warranty, as long as the factory schedule is followed with the right parts and properly recorded.
For passenger vehicles first registered from 1 June 2025, Hyundai added a conditional extension to 7 years, but only if every scheduled service is done at a Hyundai dealer. Service even once outside the dealer network and the car stays on the standard 5 years.
What that means in practice:
|
Your Hyundai |
Independent servicing costs you |
|
Registered before June 2025 |
Nothing. Full 5-year warranty protected either way |
|
Registered June 2025 onwards, inside 5 years |
The conditional years 6–7 extension, and dealer-tied perks like roadside support renewal |
|
More than 5 years old |
Nothing. All warranties have run their course |
If your Hyundai is brand new and you value that 2-year extension, dealer servicing may be the right call for now, and we’d rather tell you that than have you find out later. For every other Hyundai on the road, which is most of them, independent servicing protects everything you’re entitled to and costs less doing it.
Hyundai Service Intervals
The interval depends on what’s under the bonnet more than the badge on the back.
|
Engine |
Interval |
|
Non-turbo petrol (most i30, Tucson, Venue) |
12 months / 15,000km |
|
Turbo petrol, incl. 1.6T and N models |
12 months / 10,000km |
|
Diesel (Tucson, Santa Fe) |
12 months / 15,000km |
The turbo trap is the one to know about: plenty of owners move from a base i30 to a 1.6 turbo Tucson or Kona and keep servicing at 15,000km out of habit, quietly overshooting the schedule by half again. If you’re not sure which engine you have, the rego is enough for us to check.

Common Issues We See in Adelaide Hyundais
Modern Hyundais are solid cars, and the problems we see follow predictable patterns rather than random failures.
The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission behind the 1.6 turbo, found in many i30, Kona and Tucson variants, behaves differently from a normal automatic in stop-start traffic. Some shudder at crawling speeds is inherent to the design, but it gets worse when the fluid service is skipped. If yours has started shuddering where it didn’t before, that’s a service conversation, not a replacement one yet.
Direct-injection petrol engines across the range slowly build carbon on their intake valves, and short CBD trips accelerate it. The symptoms creep in gradually: slightly rough idle, slightly lazier throttle. Owners rarely notice because it happens over years. We do, because we see the car once a year.
Older models from roughly 2011 to 2015, particularly the ix35 and i45 with Theta engines, have a known history of rising oil consumption with age. If you run one, get in the habit of checking the dipstick monthly between services, and tell us if it’s dropping. Caught early it’s manageable; run dry it’s terminal.

Hyundai Logbook Service FAQ
Will independent servicing void my Hyundai warranty?
Not the standard one. Your 5-year unlimited-kilometre warranty is protected by Australian Consumer Law regardless of where you service, provided the schedule and parts are correct. The only exception is the conditional 7-year extension on post-June-2025 cars, explained in full above.
My Hyundai came with a free first service. Should I still use it?
Yes, absolutely. The 1,500km first inspection at the dealer costs you nothing, so take it. We’ll happily pick up the schedule from service two onwards.
Do you service N performance models?
Yes. i30 N and Kona N run the shorter 10,000km interval and are harder on brakes, tyres and fluids than the standard models they’re based on. We service them to the N schedule, not the base one.
Can you check whether my Hyundai has open recalls?
Yes. We check for outstanding recalls as part of the diagnostic scan. Recall work itself is done free at any Hyundai dealer, and we’ll tell you if your car needs to make that trip.
What does a Hyundai logbook service cost in Adelaide?
It varies by engine and interval, and Hyundai’s own published maximums make it easy to compare us directly. Send your rego through and you’ll get a firm figure, not a from-price that grows on the day.
